An overview of the F18 Metal Wallet
WHAT IS THE F18?
In this blog we will be looking at the Mecha F18 luxury minimalistic slim metal wallet. This wallet features a high quality metal material that also serves the purpose of being an RFID blocker. Its minimalistic and slim design allows it to fit with a variety of different outfits without causing an awkward bulge, and the look itself can even be a centerpiece of some outfits. Let’s dive deeper into some key features of this wallet.
WHY IS THE WALLET METAL?
The stainless steel design of the wallet means this wallet is built to last. Compared to leather, textile, and hide wallets metal wallets are capable of withstanding wear and tear. Now this does not only mean the wallet will last you a long time, it also means that it will keep its appearance for a very long time as it is less prone to being frayed, worn, or discolored. Due to not using a velcro strap, or a clip/buckle system to fasten itself, the wallet is much more reliable as those parts are prone to being damaged well before the wallet itself may have given out. On top of this, the stainless steel material allows it to withstand corrosion and general effects of weathering which means you can take it essentially anywhere and be of sound mind that your cards will physically stay safe. Our wallet does not only keep your cards physically safe, but also safe from electronic theft.
WHAT IS RFID BLOCKING TECHNOLOGY?
To put it simply, the RFID blocking technology blocks radio frequency identification signals that may lead to electronic robbery, or malicious access to your personal information. To dig a little deeper one must understand how contactless transactions or “tap” payments work. The three key components to this technology are 1. A microchip inside of your card containing information such as its number. 2. An antenna inside the card which sends the microchip’s information to the machine you’re tapping and 3. An antenna inside the machine which transfers and reads the information sent by the internal antenna. This technology that does not require input or confirmation from the user leaves thieves capable of using a machine to emulate a payment terminal to rob you of your money. Where RFID blockers deployed in our wallets come in play is by using a layer of carbon fiber to block the electromagnetic signal that our cards emit. This prevents the “payment” from going through unless the card is physically removed from the wallet. So between the card being electronically protected, and the wallet being durable enough to not have accidental damage caused, it is safe to say this wallet leaves your cards extremely secure
WHY DOES IT HAVE A SLIM, MINIMALISTIC LOOK?
Often times wallets are bulky and unsightly, or just overall do not look very good unless coordinated with the outfit. Very few things ruin the look of well fitted jeans like the unsightly bulge on one leg caused by a traditional wallet. Even if nothing is in the wallet itself often times just the design of the wallet itself is large. This may have made sense when essentially everything had to be held in the wallet such as change, bills, cards, and receipts. But now that we have moved away from cash and many more things are digitalized the need for a bulky wallet has gone way down. The slim and minimalistic design means that no matter what pants you are wearing the wallet will have a small effect on the look as it is not physically capable of bulging out. On top of this, the solid color design with the color selection currently being black goes with many outfits. If you wanna show off the wallet or just the clip you can, as it has a belt clip which can be for added security or keep your wallet on the outside as a fashion statement. Anyway you decide to use our wallet it will never ruin your outfit.
